Survey & Evaluate

As you make your determination about creating a new kitchen, recognize that you are in good company. In the U.S. alone, The Kitchen & Bath Business Magazine annually surveys 20,000 consumers and reports that approximately 6.09 million kitchens were built or remodeled in 1999. According to their forecasts for 2000, that number is expected to rise to a total of 6.45 million units. Remodeling is estimated to account for just over 75% of that market. It was also noted that 60% of all remodels are initiated in households headed by consumers 40 and older. The U.S. Census Bureau, C-50 Series and American Housing Survey, and National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), noted that the residential remodeling market is expected to increase at a steady rate of 3-5% per year through 2005.

During the surveying and evaluating process, you will begin to think about what type of kitchen options you would like to include. The following tools will link you to resources and worksheets that will assist in this process. We have also designed a custom Personal Project Organizer and Expandable Tote that will keep you organized and make your kitchen project easier from start to finish.
