Warming Drawers A warming drawer is ideal for families who eat at different times or need to keep foods warm because of entertaining. This appliance has a temperature setting from approximately 90 to 250° F and an internal humidity control to keep food steaming hot and moist. It tucks into cabinetry and is usually 24 to 30 inches wide. It can be installed into base or oven cabinetry replacing a drawer unit. Look for multiple layers and removable wire racks to allow you to stack baking/serving containers if needed. It is also useful to warm plates prior to serving. Evaluate the purpose of a warming drawer early in the development of your plans because it can go in many different locations--not necessarily adjacent to the oven. Several manufacturers are now including an option similar to a "warming drawer", but unless it has a humidity control, it is not a true warming drawer.
