Updraft

Updraft ventilation is more commonly used in the U.S. because it is easier and less expensive to install and has been around longer than downdraft. Units consist of a wall, canopy or cabinetry-mounted hood in many styles and price ranges. Some units match the cabinetry or are designed with storage. A light feature is often included and is a positive and important addition to your hood. Some hoods have multi-level controls for both the exhaust and the light.
