Top Loading Washers

Top loading washers usually have a larger capacity and a lower price, but use more water and electricity than front loading units. The extra large capacity in top loading units can be a benefit to large families or those with a "full load" mentality. Notice that the door on a top loading washer does not have to be watertight, yet a front loading washer must have a watertight seal. Compared to front loading units, top-loading units have wash cycles that are shorter and allow items can be added anytime during the wash cycle.
