CATEGORY OVERVIEW

Task Lighting is direct light that is used to further illuminate key work areas in which you spend a great deal of time and energy. For example, task lighting could be used under the upper cabinets for countertop work surfaces (under cabinet lighting), above the range for cooking, and above the island and sink for prep and cleanup. Flushmounts or recessed lights are quite common over the sink. Installing pendant task lighting above a breakfast nook table can help illuminate paperwork, craft projects, and games--in addition to your meals.

Pendant fixtures, portable lamps and under cabinet lights can provide bright, non-glaring illumination for task lighting, while adding beauty to your home. Tiffany lamps and decorative pendant fixtures can provide ample light output for a task while serving as an attractive accessory. Under cabinet lighting can be placed at regular intervals with Xenon; long, fluorescent encased tubes; low-voltage tube lights; or as a fiber optic system. Units can be controlled by a wall switch or an individual toggle switch--or both.
