Sizes & Types

As with windows, standard sizes and types are available from door manufacturers and Home Centers. Custom sizes, styles, and finishes can also be ordered, but the cost differential may be substantial depending upon what you want. The major types are:

· one-sided hinge--standard, more traditional, opens either from the left or right, inswing or outswing as needed or required by code
· inswing or outswing French--make a grand entrance, these doors open in or out, can be part of a screen and/or screen and storm combination, screens can swing or slide as preferred
· sliding French--custom look with the ease a sliding glass door, with or without sliding screen
· sliding glass--very popular, very economical, easy to open and close
