Modules

In today's market, the homeowner can find specialized "module" cooktop components that can be built-in to create a customized cooking center. These residential commercial-style cooking appliances are found at the high-end of the price scale. Besides traditional burners, there are deep fryers, griddles, grills, steamers, and wok rings (up to 17,000 BTU's). You can mix and match them as you please.

Widths range from 12" - 22" per module. Keep in mind your total allotted cooktop space and the need for direct ventilation. Ventilation options are twofold--a telescopic downdraft or an overhead hood. Consider your cooking style and your budget, because some features sound great, but may seldom be put to good use--in which case you might as well bring out the individual pan or small appliance. Do not confuse these individualized appliances with cooktops that have interchangeable components such as grills and griddles.
