Halogen
Halogen
lamps are really a form of incandescent light that require a lower wattage--creating
greater energy efficiency. The halogen lamp also emits a brighter, whiter
light. However, this lamp outputs an extremely high heat that may require
a protection shield. Manufacturers have addressed this safety issue with
the introduction of cool halogen lamps. In addition, there is a low voltage
halogen. This version results in 50% less light, but is even more energy
efficient. They are usually found in accent lighting. The price tag for
a halogen lamp is steeper than for an incandescent--but it will last longer.
