Cabinet
Quality
Cabinet
manufacturers divide cabinets into three grades: stock, semi-custom and
custom. Each grade maintains a certain standard of quality. Cabinetry
costs increase dramatically from stock (the least expensive), to custom
(the most expensive). Some manufacturers offer options that will provide
upgrades to their standard cabinets. When examining cabinets, you should
be aware of and look for the different qualities of construction, materials,
finishes, and hardware. Also, when checking out cabinet lines, make sure
that you review the optional cabinet accessories available (See Storage
Accessories in our Products Section and/or Storage
in Planning Phase). To learn more about cabinets, visit the Kitchen Cabinet
Manufacturers Association's KCMA
web site.
