Appliance
Warranties
Major
appliance manufacturers have a variety of warranties on their products.
Also look at the potential cost and benefits of an extended warranty.
Although you hope that every new appliance is perfect, don't assume a
brand new appliance will work perfectly well. Try out all the features
on your appliances as soon as they are installed. If something does go
wrong before the warranty expires, locate your sales receipt (which should
be located in your Personal
Project Organizer) and contact the manufacturer immediately.
Keep good records of correspondence and service receipts. If your problems
do not get resolved, contact the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers
AHAM at.
Their Consumer Action Program's primary purpose is to "provide consumers
with unbiased mediation for unresolved major appliance complaints".
