Safety
Safety
is an important issue since most DIY'ers are not contractors and do not
have the experience of knowing potential hazards. They are often unfamiliar
with equipment used especially if it is rented (or borrowed), and may
underestimate the need for assistance. In general, be patient, wear safety
gear/appropriate clothing and shoes, familiarize yourself with the safe
way to handle tools, keep small children and pets out of the area, and,
again, turn off utilities before you begin. See the "Safety" section of
"Remodeling a Kitchen-Replacing the Cabinets" at DoItYourself.com.
