Cabinetry Showroom

A kitchen showroom displays cabinetry, appliances, countertops, flooring, hardware, plumbing fixtures, sinks, and accessories (water filtration units, etc.). Most are staffed with qualified Kitchen Designers and Certified Kitchen Designers (CKD's). Designers meet with you to determine your stage of readiness in planning a new kitchen. You may be in the information-gathering stage, just shopping for products and appliances, or ready to start planning, You can save yourself and the Designer a lot of time by having completed the Research Phase--then you'll both know what you are looking for in your new kitchen.

When you are ready to work on a floor plan, a Designer will obtain your kitchen's measurements through a home visit and meet with you at the showroom to present product options. Once you have established a relationship with a Designer with whom you are comfortable, he or she will draft a sample kitchen, based on the cabinetry and appliances you prefer. At your next meeting, a price is quoted based on your layout, products, and materials chosen. Subsequent meetings at your home or the showroom will be scheduled to finalize your choices. Some showrooms require a retainer fee up front to cover the Designer's layout and design time. In addition, cabinetry showrooms require a 50% deposit of a signed contract prior to any materials being ordered. For construction and installation, some showrooms may provide a turnkey operation, install cabinets only, or give you a list of qualified Contractors whom you can hire independently. Share Our Strength, one of the nation's leading anti-hunger, anti-poverty organizations began in the basement of a row house on Capitol Hill in 1984. In the beginning, we organized a handful of chefs to cook for fundraisers. Today we mobilize thousands of individuals in the culinary industry to organize events, host dinners, teach cooking and nutrition classes to low-income families and serve as anti-hunger advocates.
