Keep
It Favorable
·
To help maintain the construction timeline--stay out of the work area!
· Let your General Contractor and subcontractors work out the details--they
will bring it to your attention if it strategically affects your plans
or cost.
· Try to coordinate daily chores so they don't conflict with the productivity
of your project
· Have a pot of coffee and donuts ready in the morning.
· Provide a phone for local calls--not overseas.
· Don't take advantage of your contractor's generosity--at times the contractor
will do something for goodwill and at other times there may be an additional
charge--just be thankful.
· Don't watch the clock--if concerned about worker productivity, discuss
this with the General Contractor--it is their job to maintain the construction
scheduling and timeline
· Have a sense of humor--you're all going to need it to deal with the
dust, dirt, noise, lack of privacy, early morning arrivals and late night
departures, disrupted routines and habits.
· Maintain a flexible attitude--expected the unexpected. If everyone is
honest and flexible, it increases the ability to get along.
