Deliveries

Upon delivery, every item needs to be checked against your order checklist. Inspect each item for model number, size, color, and finish as well as for damage and quality workmanship--no matter who did the ordering. Contractors would rather have the products, appliances, and materials coordinated and sitting ready to be installed rather than to be waiting for them to arrive.

You might also set up a check and balance system that does not list an item's serial number (or identifying number) until it is inspected and approved. Even if your contractor has inspected each item, it is ultimately your money and kitchen--so look it over yourself. It is also suggested that you set up your cabinets according to your floor plan to make sure all are correct.
